Miss Lou

Louise’s journey from being a physiotherapist in the NHS, to opening Miss Lou’s arts market and café in 2024 has been a challenging and exciting journey. Feeling the need for change, Louise wanted to reconnect with her creative side, whilst building a strong community in the heart of Nottingham.

Her goal is to create a unique shopping experience in a relaxed and welcoming environment, providing a platform for local sellers, makers, and artists to showcase their work.

The name “Miss Lou” is a beautiful nod to her Jamaican heritage. Growing up, Louise loved visiting Jamaica with her parents, where she was affectionately called “Miss Lou.” This name and the shop’s logo celebrate her Jamaican culture, which she proudly incorporates into her business.

Miss Lou’s is more than just a market and cafe; it’s a space where Louise can express her creativity and cultural identity, making it a special place for her, her family and the local community.
